Water Resources Management means the assessment, Development, Management of this natural Resource. The very first component of water resources management is the resource assessment. For a successful manager it is imperative to have the knowledge of his resource. It is relatively simple to assess the surface water as compare to groundwater. the assessment of surface water in gauged watershed is accurate, reliable and easy. But for un-gauged watersheds there is no alternate other than watershed modelling. Again for un-gauged watersheds there is problem of calibration for reliability. The projects completed in water resource management and hydrology are mainly based on modelling. Only a few of these watersheds are gauged where in calibration was carried out. Borehole logging is the process of measuring physical, chemical, and structural properties of penetrated geological formations, Usually using logging tools that are lowered into a borehole on a wireline cable. Geophysical downhole logging provides in situ information about the physical properties of the rock strata and groundwater. In a hole with limited core recovery or the drill cuttings or samples are of questionable origin, the depth of even significant lithological changes can be uncertain. The geophysical logs give a continuous depth record of formation properties, which clearly identifies the lithological changes with an uncertainty of a few centimetres. This information is of great importance in deigning of well and determination of water quality.

A model is a representation of real systems. In general, models are conceptual descriptions or approximations that describe physical systems using mathematical equations. Generally the numerical computer models are used for evaluation of groundwater resources, prediction of the effect of future groundwater withdrawals on groundwater level, prediction of the possible fate and migration of contaminants for risk, evaluation and tracking the possible migration pathway of contaminant., evaluation of design of hydraulic and contaminant and pump-and-treat systems,. Groundwater models are also used for design of groundwater monitoring networks and, wellhead protection area delineation. The model developed here were for evaluation of the aquifers.

Water is used for drinking, irrigating, producing, electricity, transporting merchandise and producing food. It also sustains many diverse and ecologically important species. Different water uses have different quality standards. Water quality parameters are divided into physical, chemical and biological. Examples of physical water quality parameters are temperature, salinity and turbidity. Examples of chemical water quality are heavy metals, pH, nitrate and phosphorus. Examples of biological water quality parameters are pathogens and indicator microorganism. However, here in projects the quality is determined for drinking, agriculture and industrial purpose.

Hydrologic models have been a widely effective tool in order to support decision makers dealing with watersheds related to several economic and social activities. The watershed models are used specifically for predicting watershed response to precipitation events, designing control structures , evaluating current surface water resources and impacts of future development and water consumption evaluating cumulative impact of contaminant addition and land-use. Watershed models are also used for imposing regulations and flood control measures. The purpose of watershed molding here was the estimation of water and sediment yield. The SWAT model as used to simulate the watersheds.

Isotopes in hydrology give a direct insight into the movement and distribution processes within the hydrological system. Water in its natural state contains environmental isotopes and conclusions may be drawn from their abundance variations. The isotopes commonly employed in hydrological investigations are the heavy stable isotopes of the water molecule, deuterium and oxygen-18 and the radioactive isotopes, tritium and carbon-14. The stable isotopes are excellent indicators of the circulation of water, while the radioactive isotopes are of special value in detecting the residence time, assuming no contamination of the water has occurred. The stable isotopes are used to understand groundwater –surface water interaction. Here in projects completed, the purpose was to understand the source of groundwater recharge.
